Individual Therapy in Houston

You Already Know Something Needs to Change

You’ve been turning this over for months. Longer than you’d admit.

Something shifted at work, at home, or inside your own head. The way you’ve always handled it isn’t holding anymore.

You keep waiting for it to pass on its own.

Calling a Therapist Was Never Your Plan

You were raised to handle your business quietly.

Asking for help got treated like evidence that something was wrong with you, that you were “diseased in some kind of way.”

So you got good at being the one everyone else leans on.

And who do you lean on?

You Wouldn’t Be the First to Make This Call

The people who call me land somewhere in here:

  • Professional women running on stress, burnout, perfectionism, and a work-life balance that never balances
  • Black, Indigenous, and People of Color carrying identity pressure, cultural expectation, racial stress, and trauma handed down through generations
  • LGBTQ+ adults who want to be affirmed without having to ask for it
  • Anxiety, depression, and trauma from adverse life experiences
  • Self-esteem, identity, and the relationship and family patterns that keep repeating
  • Life transitions, boundary setting, and emotional wellness

Sessions are virtual, so you can meet with us from anywhere in Texas.

If you found yourself in that list, here’s what the work looks like.

What Your Sessions Will Look Like

Some sessions are straight conversation. Direct, specific, about what happened this week and what it cost you.

Other sessions you’ll spend writing, right there in the room with me. Journaling happens during our time together, not as homework you’ll never get to.

You keep what you write, so six months from now we can go back and read exactly where you were.

Talk While Your Hands Are Busy

And some sessions, we play dominoes. You talk differently when your hands are moving and nobody’s watching your face.

That’s adult play therapy.

For a lot of people, it’s the first time the guard comes down.

Expect Us to Name the Hard Thing

We meet people where they are, which is different from leaving them there.

You decide what we open and when.

When you steer around the thing that actually hurts, though, we’ll say so.

That’s what reality-based means in practice.

Tools You Can Carry Out of the Room

When an old memory sets off your body before your mind catches up, we’ll use EMDR.

Kimm is certified in it, and its job is to get that memory filed properly so it quits hijacking ordinary days.

CBT is Kimm’s other certification. Catching the thoughts that cause the trouble, testing whether they’re true, and trading them for ones that help.

She also draws on acceptance and commitment work, mindfulness, and the strengths you already have.

You’ll Still Be the One They Call

What we want you walking out with are tools you can use for the rest of your life, long after our last session.

Your family will still lean on you. It’ll cost you less.

Make the Call You’ve Been Putting Off

You’ve been turning this over long enough.

Call us, and we’ll talk about what’s happening, what you’ve already tried, and whether working together makes sense for you.

Bring it however it comes out.

You Don't Have to Keep Carrying Everything Alone...

Or pretend you're okay when you're not. Therapy is a space where you can finally be honest about what's been hard and begin figuring out how to move forward in a way that works for your life.
