Cali is a seasoned child welfare professional, supervisor, and educator with more than a decade of experience serving children, families, and communities through trauma-informed, strengths-based practice. She currently serves as a Supervisor with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), where she oversees casework operations focused on child safety, risk assessment, permanency planning, staff development, and quality practice.
Cali earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from the University of Houston – Downtown. Her multidisciplinary career includes experience as a DFPS Conservatorship Caseworker, Drug Court Infant-Toddler Visit Coach, educator, and legal assistant. This diverse background provides her with a comprehensive understanding of child welfare, family systems, court proceedings, and child development across a variety of settings.
Throughout her career, Cali has remained committed to strengthening families, promoting child safety, and supporting successful permanency outcomes. She has extensive experience in case management, forensic documentation, court testimony, interdisciplinary collaboration, and connecting families with evidence-based and community resources that reduce risk and strengthen protective factors. Her work is grounded in cultural humility, ethical practice, and a family-centered approach that empowers caregivers while prioritizing the safety and well-being of children.

Cali has served as a Guardian ad Litem, tutor, testing coordinator, and Big Sister, reflecting her enduring commitment to advocacy, mentorship, and community engagement. She is passionate about developing future child welfare professionals, fostering collaborative partnerships, and advancing practices that promote resilience and lasting positive outcomes for children and families.
Cali is recognized for her compassionate leadership, strong clinical judgment, and ability to build trusting relationships with families, community partners, and multidisciplinary teams. She is dedicated to creating meaningful change through education, advocacy, and service.
